NATIONAL YOUTH CONCLAVE FOR CONSTRUCTIVE WORK , KARGIL, LADAKH

Someone has aptly said , “ The journey we undertake , meet people from all walks of life and learn from them , is the only biggest achievement we can have .”

The same happened with us in the journey to Ladakh “ The land of happiness” . It was like a dream come true when we were all busy in the prior arrangements to the Kargil visit . With dreams , aspirations , apprehensions and most importantly with excitement and trepidation along we started the journey to a strange land called “ Kargil” . Residue options and pre-conceived notions although helped us to imagine the place we were about to reach but the reality was far far more than the pseudo-imagination we all had . The prior imaginations were like strange people, cold place, unknown atmosphere etc etc. But in reality we met our own reflex.  Love , empathy , generosity of the people and calmness of the atmosphere really left all of us astounded .

The trip started on 7july at 8pm from GSDS. We all introduced each other so that we could know everyone better. Everyone were from different parts of the country. We saw the natural beauty of Kashmir valley and the very famous shikaras from our bus windows. At 10 a.m we were at Sonamarg. Over there we got freshed up had breakfast .

After that we viewed Sindh river and other places of tourist attraction . We enjoyed a lot as we clicked pictures and created memories. On the further journey we saw zero point , we went through zozilla pass and viewed up the amazing and thrilling mountains. At 6p.m. we reached Drass, the second coldest place in the world. Over there we viewed Kargil War Memorial . We viewed the tiger hill , tolloling , batra pass, museum and amar jawan jyoti .

We saluted the Indian flag and a soldier over there told us the whole story of kargil war. He told us how much difficulties we faced , how many soldiers we lost in the war .   How many batalions had put their lives to make a better tomorrow for the nation. We proudly sang national anthem and saluted our Indian flag.At 9:40 we reached our destination (hostel) , Kashmir university campus.  They gave us a warm welcome and they allotted us rooms.   There were separate blocks for boys and girls. In each girls room there were  only  5 participants for a comfortable stay and there were 8 participants in 1 room in boys block.
